ERADICATING project launches in Greece, Germany and Bulgaria in the beginning of 2022
The project will contribute to the implementation of the Directive 2011/36/EU, the 2017 Communication Reporting on the follow-up to the EU Strategy towards the eradication of trafficking in human beings and identifying further concrete actions as well as the European Commission second progress report (2018) and third progress report (2020). The proposed action focuses mainly on THB for the purpose of sexual exploitation but also includes all other types of trafficking. The ERADICATING project will introduce a holistic approach to combat THB/CSE on the EU scale, based on the mutually shared foundational values and established stakeholder cooperation on a transnational level. The project aspires to enhance the capacity of interested participating Partners to effectively INVESTIGATE and PROSECUTE trafficking in human beings and to promptly IDENTIFY and ASSIST victims of human trafficking.
The Consortium consists of 7 partners from 3 EU countries: Greece, Bulgaria, and Germany.
According to the profiles of Greece, Bulgaria, and Germany in the field of human trafficking, the biggest percentage of the identified sex trafficking victims is located in Germany, with Greece and Bulgaria to be considered transit and destination countries.
